Chapter One

The Beginning

A quiet room, a first glance, and the world tilted.

That colorful little restaurant

September 2024

That colorful little restaurant

We found a corner table in that tiny restaurant with bright orange walls and a teal window. You sat across from me in blue, the menu in front of us, and I kept thinking how a room full of color still felt dull compared to you. That was the first of many meals I would never want to end.

7 p.m. — the evening we first met

September 2024

7 p.m. — the evening we first met

The clock had just crossed seven when we finally stood side by side against that warm yellow wall. One little bulb above us, a whole city outside, and somehow the noise disappeared. You in blue, me pretending to be calm — that was the exact minute our story started.

Our first night in Mirpur

September 2024

Our first night in Mirpur

We spent that first evening exploring Mirpur city — just walking, talking, and trying to act normal when everything felt brand new. We stopped for food, took a few photos, and before the night ended I already knew I wanted a thousand more nights exactly like this.

June 2024

The first text

The real first message came in June 2024 — and then, somehow, it got deleted. I still wish I could get it back. But what happened before that message is what I remember most. I waited three long months for an answer. For three months I tried, asked, hoped, and she did not want to talk. Then, after so much effort and so many requests, I finally got one chance. That first conversation changed everything. The screenshot here is a later message I kept as a reminder, because the original one disappeared. But the feeling never did — it was the first breath of us.

Chapter Two

Early Dates

Small coffee shops. Long walks. The slow shape of us.

September 2024

Our second meeting — the day she made me brave

I was so nervous that day. Matching maroon, that green arch, strangers everywhere — and me, quietly wishing the camera would just disappear. You weren't having it. You forced me into every single one of these frames, laughed at my excuses, held my hand and said 'just look here'. I wasn't ready for any of it, and you made it happen anyway. That's the day you made my life. Tap the photo to see every frame she refused to let me skip.

Our second day outing

Our second day outing

The day after we first met, the city felt different — brighter, slower, like it was waiting for us to step out together. You wore that soft peach outfit, the skyline behind us, and I finally understood that one meeting was never going to be enough.

First day outing food — faluda & fried rice

Our first outing had its own little menu. Two tall glasses of faluda handed to each other on a plastic stool by the road — grapes, pomegranate, jelly, cream, all of it melting too fast while we laughed. Then a proper plate each: fried rice, chicken, a cold drink sweating in the heat. Nothing fancy, but it's the taste I still remember when I think of that day.

During our relationship

One of those days we kept meeting

Through our relationship we met again and again — some planned for weeks, some decided in a single phone call. This was one of those days. You in that soft pink embroidered dress, me in my blue striped shirt, a garden café full of green, a bamboo wall, fairy lights coming on as the evening turned. We sat on that bench longer than we needed to, took far too many photos, ate slowly so the day would last, and by the end of it we were already planning the next one. Dhaka

Zia Uddan, Dhaka — a lovely day on DSLR

We spent a whole day exploring Zia Uddan in Dhaka — white panjabi, your golden jamdani saree, a small bouquet you never let go of. Krishnachura trees burning orange above the lake, quiet brick benches under the shade, and a photographer's DSLR catching everything: your hand on my shoulder, the flowers hidden behind my back, that one long look on the bridge. What a lovely day it was. Tap to see every frame.

Birthdays

Every year she turns an ordinary date into the best day of mine.

15 photosMy first birthday with her — Hawa & Posh Lounge

My first birthday together

My first birthday with her — Hawa & Posh Lounge

It was my first birthday after we became us, and she made the whole day mine. Two restaurants in one day — Hawa first, then Posh Lounge — a little bouquet handed to me under that red heart of flowers, sunglasses on at the rooftop table, that swing at golden hour, and then night fell: green walls and fairy lights, the bamboo corner where we sat side by side, the rooftop railing with the whole city glowing behind us. She planned every bit of it, and I just kept looking at her thinking: this is the best gift I've ever been given. Tap to see every frame.

Adventures

Passports stamped. Playlists made. Home was wherever you were.

Sylhet

Our Sylhet tour — lotus water, green fields & old ruins

Sylhet gave us a whole day that felt borrowed from a film — a lake covered in pink lotus, a small wooden boat, fog sitting low over the hills. You wore that red saree with a lotus in your hair and I honestly forgot to look anywhere else. We walked the paddy fields, stood inside the old brick ruins, handed each other flowers like they were promises, and let the photographer chase us around until our cheeks hurt from smiling. Tap any photo to open the full gallery — there's room here for every Sylhet memory we add next.

First day at Cox's Bazar — Sugandha Beach

Our very first day at Cox's Bazar, and we went straight to Sugandha Beach. Matching "Cox's Bazar" t-shirts, sunglasses on, jeans rolled up and instantly soaked anyway. We sat right where the waves broke and let the sea run over our feet, rode the jet ski until you were laughing and holding on tight, made a little heart with our hands facing the water, and I picked you up in the middle of the waves because you dared me to. Later, dinner in our best clothes, hands still holding across the table. The sea was loud all day, but somehow it was the quietest, happiest I have felt. Tap any photo to see the whole day.

Second day — Inani Beach, Cox's Bazar

Day two we drove down the marine drive to Inani Beach — quieter water, black coral rocks, and that little green paper umbrella we bought on the way. You in the blue dress, me in the printed shirt, both of us balancing rock to rock while the waves tried to knock us over. We sat on the giant concrete blocks, held hands across them, hid under the umbrella from the sun, and kept reaching back for each other every time a wave came in. No crowd, no rush — just the two of us, the rocks, and the whole Bay of Bengal. Tap any photo to open the full day.

Third day — Green Lounge Hotel and Restaurant, Cox's Bazar

Day three we stayed in — Green Lounge Hotel and Restaurant, all dressed up. You in that pink and green silk saree with the jhumkas, me in the grey and maroon panjabi, and for once we looked like we had planned it. The lobby was still lit up for the season: fairy lights in the palms, a cotton-snow village hut, a decorated tree, and that turquoise pool glowing under everything. We took photos by the water, sat on the pool edge with our feet almost in it, held the end of your aanchal out like a curtain, laughed at our own sunglasses shot, and kept stealing looks at each other between frames. No sea, no sand — just soft light, silk, and the two of us. Tap any photo to open the whole evening.

Another day in Cox's Bazar — photos by Promi

Another day in Cox's Bazar, and this one belongs to Promi — she had the camera and she would not let us off easy. Me in the black three-piece with the red tie, you in the maroon floral with your sunglasses pushed up, the courtyard pool glowing green behind us. She made me kiss your hand by the fountain, made us hold hands and look straight down the lens, caught us on the steps mid-argument about how to stand, and then drove out to the green stretch by the water for one last frame in the grey morning light. Half of these we didn't pose for at all — that's why they're the ones I keep coming back to. Tap to see every shot she took.

The Proposal

One question. One breath. One yes that changed everything.

Bangla Motor, Dhaka

One knee, one rose — rooftop restaurant, Bangla Motor, Dhaka

A rooftop in Bangla Motor, Dhaka. Sunlight, green vines, a single red rose I'd been hiding all morning — and me on one knee, heart going faster than the city below us. You smiled before I even finished asking, and then you said yes. After that it was all laughter: food, teasing, holding your hand across the table, my friend Tanzim quietly clicking away and catching every second of it. The day we became forever

White sherwani, deep red velvet, gold catching every bit of December sunlight. You walked toward me under the trees and the whole world went quiet. There was the veil you lifted, the hands we couldn't stop holding, the kiss on your forehead, the rose petals on the tray, and that long green-lined path we finally walked down together. Our people — Abbu, Ammu, Boro Apu, Mamun Vaiya, Promi & Rayhan

A wedding isn't only two people — it's everyone who carried them there. Abbu and Ammu beside us on the stage, Boro Apu never far from Nipa's side, Mamun Vaiya keeping the whole day light and laughing, Promi and Rayhan right there with all the joy and chaos, and the little ones running through the flowers. There's the moment our hands were joined and blessed, the family portraits under the white and red arch, and Nipa behind the red veil with 'শিমুলের বউ নিপা' written across it. Rayhan & Promi — like my own brother and sister

Some people walk into your life and become family without sharing a drop of blood. Rayhan and Promi are exactly that for me — like my own brother and sister. From the very beginning of my relationship with Nipa, through every up and down, and even on our wedding day, they were the ones I could always count on. They helped me more than I can ever put into words. There were moments when things felt uncertain, when I needed someone to stand beside me, and they were always there. If I ever get the chance in life, I will definitely try to help them the way they helped me — because what they gave me wasn't just support; it was the belief that love could actually win.

A day at The Bubble — Mirpur, Dhaka

An ordinary afternoon at The Bubble in Mirpur that somehow turned into one of my favourites. You in that flowered kurti and dark sunglasses, me in a grey polo pretending to be calm — and the glass walls behind us full of green. We reached across the table and just held hands, no words needed; you looked at me the way you always do when you think I'm not noticing. There were slow poses by the chairs, silly ones we laughed through, one on the rooftop railing with the whole city humming below, and a hundred small moments in between: your hand on my shoulder, my hand never letting go of yours. No occasion, no plan — just tea, sunlight, and you. Tap to see every frame.

The morning after — our village, just us

We woke up early the morning after the wedding, freshened up, and slipped out for a little outing around our village. No crowd, no schedule — just you in your soft mint saree with mehndi still deep red on your hands, me in a plain white tee, sitting on those marble steps. We pointed at things, talked about nothing, leaned on each other, and let the photographer catch it all. Our first morning as husband and wife, and it felt exactly like home.
